I think building the higia Sofia was definitely one of his greater, accomplishments. Along with renaming the old laws of Rome into the Justinian code. If it weren't for these two accomplishments, the people of Rome would A. Not understand the rules of Rome. And B. One of the greatest historical museums would not be created.

I agree with Grace because the Hagia Sophia was very important to Rome, most important in the Roman Empire, so that would also be a great accomplishment.

I disagree with you Grace because even though those were important accomplishments I don't think they were the absolute most important because they did not do what all Byzantines really wanted and that was bringing Rome back. When Justinian secured all the land around the Mediterranean he brought Rome back. That is why I think Justinian's greatest accomplishment was not building the Hagia Sophia or making the laws more non-educated friendly, but restoring the majority of old Rome.

I agree with you Grace because I feel as well rewriting the laws of Rome so the people of the Byzantine empire could understand them was a great idea. And I put that his greatest accomplishment.

I agree with you that it was important that Justinian made the code, but I disagree with you on the Hagia Sophia. I don't think that was the most important thing because even though it is now a famous cathedral/mosque/museum, it wasn't super important to the people of Byzantium and the city of Constantinople.

My thinking what I think what justinian"s most greatest accomplishment was letting women have rights because if that did not happen women could of not had rights at all. Also it is a good accomplishment because why should women do what the men wanted them to do back then, though then he changed it were women have rights.

I agree Anna because for centuries woman had no rights . Justianian and Theodora changed that by giving woman rights. One of the rights woman could inherit land.

I agree with Anna, another great accomplishment was giving woman rights. If woman had no rights they wouldn't be able to do a lot of things they can do today.

I think Justinian's best accomplishment was building the Haiga Sophia. This cathedral took 6 years to build. Justinian challenged each side to build as fast as they can to get higher pay. Justinian built this to show his power and gods power.

I agree because without the technology like we have today that is very fast. Some building in the modern day some buildings it takes longer than 6 years if you want a well done project.

I think that Justinian's greatest accomplishment was conquering all of the land around the Mediterranean. I think this because even though Justinian had a lot of accomplishments but, the reason conquering all of the land around the Mediterranean was the greatest he had is because that was what he had wanted to do ever sense he was younger. Not only had he done this to expand his empire and that is an accomplishment by itself, restoring old roman land and governing it as a whole was his main goal that he had once he became emperor and he did just that by conquering all the land around the Mediterranean.

I fully agree with your answer and reasoning. Being able to reconquer the land that was lost to many tribes must of been a challenge, so being able to execute something like that is indeed an accomplishment.

Very true Nathan. Justinian's main goal was to gain more land and to reunite Rome as a whole. He did this by conquering all of the land around the Mediterranean. This may have been Justinian's crowning achievement. Great Point Nathan, and I definitely agree with you.

I agree with you. This is because Justinian achieved his goal. Restoring all the Roman land that had been lost was definitely tough but, Justinian knew that was important and cared to do something about it. Other emperors wouldn't bother to restore the old land. Justinian however did what a great emperor would do. He did the right thing.

I agree with you Wally. It was a architectural achievement. That big of a building only completed in 6 years. Not only did that construct faster than any body can do today it was constructed by hand and it looks beautiful.

I believe Justinian's greatest accomplishment was reconquering the land the the Western Roman Empire lost. I could see how difficult that could have been, as there were multiple barbaric tribes that mauled Western Rome, so clearing all of them out and taking back the land is a great deed.

I think his greatist accomplishment is the hagia sophia. I think that because the catholic church is the biggest the the world. Also so for a big building like that it was built really fast. That was what I liked the most about it, how fast it was built.

I think his greatest accomplishment was to build the Hagia Sophia because it took six years just to build one build it must took a lot of patience to wait. He didn't want it to be build went someone else is ruling.

I think that the most important thing that Justinian did/built was forming the code of laws known as Justinian's Code. This was important because it was easier for people to understand, especially the poor. It also made laws fairer for women, children, and the lower classes.

I think that Justinian had a lot of great achievements. However, I think that one of his greatest was conquering all the land around the Mediterranean Sea that had been lost when the western part of the Roman empire fell. By restoring all the and he expanded the Byzantine empire as well as achieve his goal of restoring all the Roman land and governing it as a whole. Justinian was a great emperor over all in the Byzantine empire. He made a lot of advancements in the empire. For example he built the Hagia Sophia and wrote the Code of Justinian.

I agree with Dhwani because getting back all of Rome's territory was important. With out it he will not have a lot of power over the territories.

I think Justinian's greatest accomplishment was having the Hagia Sophia built. This is because he wanted to show his and God's power. Also, he had the builders race to get the Hagia Sophia done while he was still in power and it took six years to build the Hagia Sophia.
