I think the most interesting about our African unit is the way the traded with other people because it was so unique. The leased interesting about the unit was that there houses and there way to keep there food longer.

Yes I agree with you Ethan V. I say this because their houses were not that interesting. Also, the way of them saving food wasn't that interesting because anyone could do that.

What exactly made their trading system so unique compared to others? Was it their way of silent bartering or what goods they traded for?

I agree with you Ethan, the trading technique they used was very interesting. Also, I agree with you about the least interesting thing, it wasn't very interesting.

I agree with you Ethan V their African trade is interesting and their houses the lest interesting is because who will want to build a house live in it for a few days then move again.

The least interesting thing about Africa is that there houses were so basic. Also, the most interesting thing in Africa is there trade. I say this because they leave the trade and then they come back to see if the other traders took the trade.

I agree that trading was the most interesting. But there homes were not very good because they didn't have that great of equipment but they still could have tried to learn or think about the structures.

Very true Chloe G. There houses were pretty simple. They just were so plain. Remember the pic Mr. Kaciuba showed us. When we thought it was a sand castle? That was kind of boring

I agree but disagree with Chloe. I agree that the house were one of the least interesting. But I disagree that the house was basic. This is because when I think of a basic house I think of a house like the ones we live in today. I'd say the house they live in are abnormal. This is because their house are made of many different resources and materials.

I think that the most interesting thing about the African unit is there trading system. How they found ways to keep everything a secret, there mines, and so they don't die. The least interesting thing was there structures, i understand they didn't have the equipment but at least try to fix it.

I think the most interesting part of the Africa unit was the way they traded like Ethan said. Silent barter? Or something like that. I thought of how difficult that would be. It is a thought to think about like how that developed since they didn't have a common language. The least interesting part was the part about Swahili.

I also like silent barder because it proved that people not need to cumunicate to trade with different cultures. Also people did not have to learn a compleatly different language.

In my opinion, the way the Africans traded through silent barter was really interesting. It was as though they had developed a silent language to communicate with other groups of people. It was smart for them to develop silent barter so that there wouldn't be any robbing. Overall, what I'm tryng to get at is that there are many advantages of silent barter and that it was a great thing to have pursued.

I found the most interesting part of this unit is how Ghana, Songhai and Mali all ran around one trade route. It was this one trade route than brought great fame and fortune to each one of these empires. What I find least interesting is Great Zimbabwe as all we learned about them is that they built great stone walls.

I really agree with you that all of those kingdoms are great and everything. But the trade route did not bring ALL of their fame and fortune. They all had their own separate ways to their fame and fortune.

I think that the least interesting thing about Africa were the houses because there was not anything special about the basic houses. I think the most interesting thing about Africa was they way they silent bartered. This is so interesting because it was like that all spoke the same language and how the "uneducated" country came up with such a good idea that no one else came up with.

I think the most interesting thing we learned about is the silent trading. Just imagine leaving gold on a rock and come back in a day to see if it is still there or something by it. People could just steal it! I disliked the walls of Great Zimbabwe because they do not even stand for protection?! Who would build a wall for not keeping stuff out?

I think it was learning about the stone churches that where built out of volcanic rock. I think that the Ethiopia gotthe rock from mount kilimanjaro. This is what I think was themost importanr.

I think the most interesting thing in our Africa Unit was Trading Routes, because the building of the houses and the house were not so exciting or food in Africa. Trading Routes had shown how they traded what they traded and were they would be to trade so that was most interesting because it had many things to learn about in the trading unit.

I think that the most interesting idea in the entire Africa unit was the silent barter. This was a unique and flawless concept. I think what they actually traded for was the least interesting. I get that gold for salt was immensely important, but it wasn't very interesting.

In my opinion the most interesting was the trade through silent barter. This is because this was a unique way of trading. Also you don't trade face to face with the other trader because of the different languages they spoke which makes it even more interesting. The least interesting was the walls of great zimbabwe. This is because they were built to show the kings wealth and power. Also what's the point of having walls if they aren't used for protection.
