i disagree because he most likely would have helped the overall Rome, the republic was dying anyways. they were selfish senators going downhill. Cesar was slowly stopping Rome´s downfall. the senators were so blindsighted by their greed they didn't realize this and killed him.

But is the Republic worth it? He had the potential to be the best ruler of all time. So the Republic would be useless to keep if you could have an even better empire.

I disagree Spencer because he was starting to treat lower class members as actual people instead of nothing. By killing Caesar, you have effectively turned almost all of Rome against you while you are parading down the streets saying "We killed Caesar, aren't you all happy?". Even if he was a threat to the Roman republic, the Roman empire still became a thing.

I agree with Ryan, Miah, and Kevin. I agree with them because Julius Caesar would not take over. He helped the plebeians in a lot of different ways. He gave soldiers land and money. He also gave this to the poor. The senators killed him just because he was taking away the power that they had. Even if they thought they were doing it to save the republic most of them probably just did it for their own selfish needs, then made the excuse to seem like heroes. They soon found out that nobody thought that they were heroes because a lot of people really liked Julius Caesar.

I disagree with Spencer because he helped the poor and he gave money and land to the soldiers for their hard work. Also he helped the country by trying to control the number of slaves in Rome and worked to increase jobs.

I guess I'm not the only crazy one here! I think the senators should have killed Caesar. He was destroying the republic. The govt. was set up a specific way and there were laws to protect it. The fear most Romans had at the time was one person gaining to much power and becoming a king like Tarquin. That is why there are 2 consuls and they each could have power for only 1 year. Caesar destroyed all of that. He became "Dictator for life." What if he was just helping out the poor to gain popularity and once he had the power he would have begun to abuse the power? Now murder is never right. But what if President Elect Trump declares himself President for life? How would you feel then?

I disagree with you Jack. Though he was helping the lower class the Republic was being destroyed slowly. He was taking power away from people who had supported all peoples opinions in who to have rule over them.

I disagree, because Julius Caesar created opportunities for others. He helped the poor, gave money and land to soldiers, and he still asked for opinions of others. He helped, not hurt Rome.

See this is my problem of killing Caeser and not killing him. I wouldn't kill him because he was just trying to make Rome a lot more fair. I also wouldn't kill him because a lot of people like him making more laws fair. I would kill him because he might have taken over the Republic and made himself a king. I gave my two points of view and here is my final answer. I WOULDN'T have killed Caeser.

I agree Mary! He made life so much easier by 1. Treating people with fairness. 2. He made laws much more easier for people with less money/land. 3. By expanding Rome, a LOT more people without as much land.

I disagree because even though he did many things to win loyalty from the Plebians, he was taking power for himself. It was supposed to be a triumvirate, 3 men holding power not one. The Romans tried to avoid having one ruler, and when they did, it was for a short amount of time.

I would not kill Caesar because he was full of potential. He was very talented and was a leader in war. He started a civil war which I disagree with but at the end of time, he was one of the best roman leaders. His friend literally stabbed him in the back.

I, in a way agree, but then disagree with Lidia K. I disagree with Lidia because most times people that take over are mean cruel and any others that aren't that way don't give money to the poor.

I would not kill Julius Caesar because anything that the general republic likes, you don't want to kill it. Everyone who likes this thing that everyone likes, everyone will not be happy with your decision which is why I would stand back and not get in the way so I wouldn't get stabbed myself. Anyone who took part in the murder should've had common sense and said that they would obviously be shunned for their terrible actions. On the other hand, I could see why people would want to kill him, but, he was a very good person, right? If he was emperor and the patricians were put down to plebeians, Julius Caesar treated plebeians very well, so it would be a lose-lose if you killed Caesar.

I would not kill Caesar. I would not kill Julius Caesar because all the poor people of Rome liked him. The plebeians liking Caesar was important because they were the Roman army. So if the plebeians did not like him they would not easily follow him into war causing them to maybe loose some of the important wars and or battles that Rome had fought ad won. It was also important for them to be happy because they made up most of Rome's population, and you want to keep the people happy so their are no revolts and or rebellions. I would also not kill him because I would not be as worried as the other senators about having power over Rome. So this is why I would not join in on killing Julius Caesar.

I would not kill Caesar because he did good things for Rome. Most people like him because of the good things he did for Rome. The patricians did not like him because they got almost equal rights as the peblians. I think Caser was a good leader.

I would kill Julius Caesar because he was slowly taking all the power for himself and taking it away from the Roman people. Julius was chipping away the Republic. Even though it may be dangerous for me I would try to help fight for the Republic.
