The dark ages was no fun, in fact it was truly depressing. What in your opinion made it the worst? Possible answers can range from life expectancy dropping 10 years, lack of government and law, increased crime, constant wars between smaller kingdoms, no education, day to day struggles, ect. (Use page 81 to help!) Why?

I think the worst thing that happened would be a third of the population dying off because of the Black Death plague.

Sorry I didn't finish my response above. So like I was saying the worst thing that happened would be a third of the population dying. The reason they all dyed was because of Black death. Black Death was a plague that broke out in Europe in the Dark Ages.

I definitely agree, Cloie. Many people died because of the Black Death. This was not good. Europe had a large population before the plague. One third of Europe's population is a lot. There was really no way to prevent the Black Death, so more and more people kept dying.

I agree with Cloie. The Black Plague was the worst thing that happened in the middle ages. The worst part about the Bubonic Plague was that there was no way to stop it so even more and more people started dying.

I agree with you Cloie that the Black Death was the thing that happened during the Dark Ages. I agree with this because the Black Death killed 50 million people which was one third of the population.

In my opinion, the worst is the Black Death. This is because one third of Europe's population died. The Black Death is a plague that broke out in Europe. Also, I think that no education made it really bad as well. There were barely any people that knew how to read and write. In my opinion, because not many people knew how to read and write they were all pretty much soldiers. All those soldiers would probably die in wars. So, that way many more people died. There were a lot of deaths during the Dark Ages which, in my opinion, is the worst part.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you guys. it could be the government or read and write because if Yu can't read or right how can we find that materials to get rid of the plague if they are written down somewhere. (In my opinion) and without the government there will not be any doctors being paid so they won't be doctors anymore

We would still have doctors but the government doesn't pay for the doctors, they pay for themselves and if the government wanted a doctor they would hire one. And without as many people to help (from people dying of Black Death) and not the proper sanitation today the doctors would die.

I think the worst think that happened was the governmental issues. Both sides of the government have to get along to have it work better. The crowning of Charlemagne becoming the great holy roman emperor was terrible.

I think it was the Black Plague. Like every one said, it wiped out a third of Europe! That is over one million people died because of it! Imagine if that happened to the U.S, that would be huge!!😲

I totally agree nick because the Black Death is one of the most devastating diseases ever. It would also be tradic to us as well.

Nick first off the disease was spread through rats and other vermin. It was spread when the rats got into the peoples houses and peed and pooped, people usually sleep with their mouths open so the poop and pee remnants would spread by getting digested. In America we normally have good hygiene so the likely hood of Black Death coming back would be near to impossible. So I highly disagree with your last statement.

Peter, it was never in the U.S anyway. I was saying IF it came to the U.S anyway. So I highly disagree with you comment about it comming back to the U.S.

Peter, he's not stating that it would happen to the U.S, he's merely saying could you imagine IF it were to strike America. Take a chill pill mate.

I think the worst part of the dark age because most people did not live that long. Mabey one of the reasonsIis because of the Black Death wich killed around 25 Million people. As well as the Black Death when kids where mature enough they would start working as soon as possible.

I think that the most disastrous thing to occur in Europe was the Black Death. It decreased the life expectancy. With that happening, their enemies probably took ad vantage of their state of weakness and attack them. Which further more made them more weak and vulnerable.

in my opinion no education is the worst. This is the worst because everybody is so stupid. Another reason is noone would be able to trade with other languages. they wouldnt be able to trade because they couldnt be smart enough to do it.

But there was no time to educate people to read and write Cade. Everyone was trying to survive the Dark Ages. There was also alot of war, so it would be tough to build a school in a couple of days before it got crushed.

I believe that the worst thing during the Middle Ages was the Black Death. It destroyed lots of the Earths population. And sense there wasn't much of a education advancement so the cure was never found.

I agree with you Wally, the Black Death made Europe a hard place to live in. Like he said, since no one had an education they could not find a cure.

I say the deadliest component of the Dark Ages was the the spread of the Bubonic Plague or Black Death. It wiped out nearly all of Europe, and while everything else in the Dark Ages was bad, none of that would happen if everyone was dead! That being said I think the Bubonic Plague really made things bad in Europe.

Exactly, Niko, the bubonic plague was terrible and killed so many people. You could argue that other things were bad too. But in my opinion, the bubonic plague or Black Death was by far the worst part of the dark ages.

I think the Black Death or Bubonic Plague was the worst part. This is because it wiped out nearly half of the population of Europe. If the Black Death would have wiped out all of Europe there would not be the dark or middle ages.

I think the worst part of the dark ages was the plague Black Death. It killed what 1/3 of all of Europe's population? Maybe more? So that would be terrible. The plague caused excruciating pain and rings of red to appear on your skin. I think having the plague or even being around when the Black Death was around.

I agree with you Jack B, because yes many people died and that was a horrible tragic thing that happen. And it would probably last longer than not having education or other things which also shows it was more painful.

I think the worst part of the middle ages was the plague. Thousands of people died, and nobody could do anything about it. And even if you didn't die from it, you would be in a ton of pain for a long time.

The worst part about the dark ages was the Black Death. The Black Death is a plague that broke out in Europe. It killed at least ⅓ or more of Europe's population.

I think that the most worst thing that happen in the Dark Ages was the black death because that was really how most of the stuff that happen, went down causing the Dark Ages. Because people were dying causing losing people for different jobs, which loss money making people think whats the point of education when we need to learn how to fight . Also since also other people new that they had barley any people in for wars and everyone was poor and not ready they would just get attacked which also brought down the republic. So I think the Black death was the worst because many bad things happen during it.

I think the worst thing that happened in the middle ages was the Black Death. I think this because one third of the population dying is truly tragic. Even though the world has grown a ton today, one third of the population is about 2,333,333,333. Back when the plague struck one third of the population was 50 million people which is still a crazy big number off people.
