I think Augustus had the biggest good impact on Rome. I think this because he created fire department and a police to protect the people. He also built new aqueducts and repaired old ones which helped deliver water to the city. Augustus improved Romes roads which helped them spread their culture and get new ideas. One of the most important reasons why Augustus had such a big impact was because he was the one who created Pax Romana, Roman peace.

I agree, Augustus did a lot! He did a lot to develop Rome, including adding fire departments, police stations, and developing the economy. His most important action was definitely bringing order and stability, He brought Pax Romana!

I agree with you Luke but i think that even though Augustus did have a very big impact on Rome. Julius Caesar made Rome and it's people much happier especially with the plebians so Julius just set up Agustus for sucsess.

I think Constantine had the biggest impact on Rome. He brung Rome back together. He also made Christianity(the biggest religion), legal. If he didn't legalize Christianity, we probably wouldn't be talking about it right now.

I agree with you Jeremy, Constantine did legalize the Christianity the most popular religion today. It also made and immense impact on Rome. This then stopped some of the persecution happening in Rome which was really important. I see your point and now I also think Constantine had a really great impact on Rome.

I could agree with Jeremy. Constantine did make a great change by making christianity legal, but I think that Caesar had a better impact on Rome good and bad because there were great things that he did but he got killed because of them.

I agree with you Jeremy without Constantine there wouldn't be descendants of those Christians. Without descendants then there would be no one to tell us about Christianity.

I think Julius Caesar was the biggest impact on Rome. A lot of people liked and dis liked him. Caesar defeated Pompey, he was elected consul which is the highest office in Rome. Caesar was gaining to much popularity and power so that made the senate mad and against him. A group of the senate killed him because they thought they would be the heroes but instead the community got mad and were gonna find and executed those people. Thats why theres good and bad impacts.

I agree with you Delaney. He was a powerful dictator. He helped the plebians not be so poor anymore and by that I mean he gave them jobs. Even though he assassinated and we don't have dictators in the USA, I would still be happy if he said he was dictator for life.

I think Nero had the biggest bad impact in Rome because he was the one who started the big fire of Rome. In my opinion that had a big impact on Rome. That could of caused the Roman empire to fall as well

I think Commodus was the worst of the Roman emperors. He basically ended Rome. He made so many bad decisions. This ultimately led to the fall of Rome

I agree Ethan, Julius Caesar was the best in my opinion and he destroyed the republic. Commodus was a bad ruler and he did basically end Rome. He should have thought twice because he let his followers down and ended Rome.

In my opinion Julius Caesar was the best emperor. The patricians may not have liked him, but he helped out the plebeians which was more than 90% of the Roman Empire. He did not make decisions completely on his own, he still took suggestions from the senate, not all emperors did that. He tried to be fair especially to the plebeians who were treated unfairly. Julius Caesar was a strong emperor and ruled Rome more fairly than most of the other Roman Emperors.

I have to disagree with you Melle. You're forgetting that Julius Caesar was never an emperor. The empire was established after his death. Anyway, Caesar was a smart and kind man but Diocletian did take time to care for Roman citizens by giving Rome that last boost of power by parting it. Though, I wouldn't blame Caeser for people not liking him and having to fight wars. So he couldn't really take the time to establish a 2nd empire. But at least Diocletian did.

I disagree with u because Julius was not a roman emperor. The empire started after his death. I see why you say he was a good leader though because he did a lot for Rome

I don't think there is a major emperor because there was over 70 total emperors and no one emperor made it the way it is. But I do think Julies coarser and Nero. Nero burned half of Rome down. while Julies claimed he is dictator for life.

I think Julius Caesar had the biggest good impact on Rome because he helped the poor and cared about everyone. He also had a good army and defeated Gaul. Plus with out him the poor would be treated the same. But that changed when the patricians killed him. But he destroyed the republic.

I think Marcus Aurelius had the biggest impact on Rome. Yes, Augustus brought Pax Romana but, I think Marcus did many more little things. Marcus Aurelius did things such as, lower taxes, found schools, orphanages, and hospitals. He also made punishments to prisoners and slaves less cruel. Another thing he did was help the poor, he even sold his own jewelry and property to help them raise money. In his free time, he wrote books, that people still read today! I feel he did more than Augustus.

I would have to say Julius Caesar. He was respectful to the plebians when the patrictians weren't. Even more important he payed the army. Now they don't just have to risk their life for free. Don't get me wrong I'm sure there are some people that would do it for free because they love their country that much. I'm just saying that if you survive you would have gotten money out of it.

I belive Nero had a bad impact on Rome. He most likely burned down part of Rome. That lead to him blaming the Christians, and another reason Rome hated Christians.

I think that Julius Caesar had the most good impact on Rome because Even though he did declare himself dictator for life and was making the republic less in power, he still did help the plebians which made him extremly popular with most of rome's citizens but the senate did think he was destroying the republic which he was but, he was still aking advice from them and it was Agustus that got rid of the rebuplic and implemented the Empire.

I think Nero was a very bad emperor because he poisoned his own brother to gain power. He is also believed to have started the Roman fire. Nero blamed the fire on Christians which led to persecution of Christians. Nero was also playing the violin during the Roman fire.

Personally, I think Diocletian had the greatest impact. Because he had the great idea to part the Roman empire. Parting Rome made it easier to govern. I'm glad that others emporer's took the time to care for the people but I also like that Diocletian looked at the bigger picture before taking care of the little things.

Personally I think they all had a big effect on Rome. But Nero stands out to me the most because he started the Roman fire. Nero blamed the Fire on Christian's and that killed many.
