My favorite activity while learning Rome was when a student was the leader and had to act like the index card said to. I really enjoyed learning about Rome because I really like learning about Rome and Greece. This year was better than last year to because while learning about history this year we actually learn about the death and wars.

I agree Melle, learning about the army was fun too because we learned about the tortuous formation and what usually happened during a war. I loved hearing all the twists during the war. I think death is the most fun thing about Rome not to be gross but it was interesting. I'd like to visit Rome someday because it looks beautiful in pictures. I'd like to see the weapons they used for war.

I agree with you Melle, it was fun doing the index card activity. I loved how the "rulers" could make others do things like pushups and situps. I also agree with how you thought this was better than last year because while learning about the important information we also talked about wars, I would say the same as well.

My favorite part of Rome was learning about the army. This was because I am very interested in militiary formations and weapons. My favorite Roman formation is tortoise formation. Rome is one of my favorite topics in history.

I agree with Ethan. Rome is very exiting, and very fun too!The army kept Rome so fascinating to me.If they knew they were going to get taken over then why didn't they just run away to another country!

I think that Rome was a very exciting unit and the most suprising thing for me was that Rome had some really stupid emperors and most of them were corrupt and stole money that could go into better defenses for Rome but they threw parties instead. Rome most likely fell earlier that it could have because of all the corruption and murders and terrible decions by emperors. And another thing that qonfused me was wy was the cappital moved from Rome? all in all rthis was a great unit and the tortise formation activity was amazing.

I agree Trenton since the dumbness of some emperors was unbelievable and the Roman unit was fun because of the activities, like the ruler activity and the tortoise formation. The reason the capital was moved from Rome was because Constantinople had more money, and it was easier to transfer the capital there than to deliver money to Rome

My fav part about the Rome unit was that it was so lively. We got to hang out with our friends and learn. It was so fun that it didn't even feel like we were learning.I also like the army because it was so strong at the beginning, but at the end they didn't even have enough soldiers to surround the border. Those are the reasons why I liked the Rome unit!

I think the most innteresting part of rome was the crazy rulers of rome. Nero starting the great fire of rome was interesting. There was a lot of crazy rulers. But the crazy acts was the most interesting.

Yeah, there were some pretty crazy rulers of Rome. That was one of my favorite things about Rome. Though I did wonder how Rome did not fall even sooner with all those messed up rulers of Rome.

I agree Alexa! I always find it interesting to look at the leaders of different civilizations and how they are different or similar to ours. I always wonder what history books will say about our presidents in the future. Will we look back at Clinton, the Bush's, Obama, & Trump as heroes that made America a powerful nation or will they be seen as the start of the end of America. I guess only time will tell.

My favorite thing that I learned was about Julius Caesar because I think what he did was very kind and thoughtful. Also everything that happens in Rome was crazy because they persecuted people for no reason and the whole army thing was silly. They should have had better leadership. I thought it was a silly way how Rome fell because they could have done better and they needed different ruler. If they had better rulers I think rome would have fell later and Rome would be more successful.

My favorite thing that we learned about Rome is when we learned about the emperors/rulers of Rome. I liked learning about some of the crazy things they did! Especially about Nero, because he started the fire that led to the persecution of Christians, I think that was pretty messed up!

My favorite part we learned about Rome was when he talked about the tortoise formation. I liked because I thought it was fun being able to hide under shields. I also like being able to throw "arrows" at the other people. I found how the Romans had a vomitorium the strangest because I think it is weird to have a place to puke than go eat more than puke again etc.

I agree with you Luke. The "arrows" were super fun. I'm glad that we got to have an interactive sequence, while still learning about the formation.

I agree with Luke it was fun doing that activity when we had to do whatever the leader told us to. It was fun but it was really cool when we got to listen to the music. I also liked that when we did the activity we can learn and act out the rulers.

I think the most interesting thing we learned in Rome was the tortuous formation. It was cool that we got to act out or actually go out side and get in the formation with the shields. It was fun to throw the rolled paper at the people with the shields. learning about their governing system was fun but cringy because they have a leader, that leader dies, Rome needs a new one, but there was no voting so people of Rome fought over who was gonna rule next.

My favorite activity was when we practiced the tortoise formation. I thought it was interesting, because it gave us the experience of how it would be in a Roman tortoise formation. It was also fun since we got to throw the paper at the people with the shields.

I think the most confusing moment was when Caligula named his horse consul. The most fun I learned was the tortoise formation. I think the most worrisome think was for Carthage when Rome invaded them after they won the 1st and 2nd Punic Wars.

The vomitorium was the most disgusting thing I had ever heard of. I don't know how anyone can throw up just because they don't want to give away food. That is so gross!

It is also very selfish that they wouldn't give away food. Since the people who actually needed the food went to war, they should at least give them left over food.

My favorite thing that I learned while doing Rome was the Republic. I liked the Republic because the first thing we did while doing the Republic in Rome was when we had the kings and they choose people to do stuff in the back of the room. I think a lot of the kids liked being active.
