The dark ages was no fun, in fact it was truly depressing. What in your opinion made it the worst? Possible answers can range from life expectancy dropping 10 years, lack of government and law, increased crime, constant wars between smaller kingdoms, no education, day to day struggles, ect. (Use page 81 to help!) Why?

I think that the worst part about the dark ages was that no one was getting education. If someone was getting even a little bit of education, maybe their would be doctors, or at least someone to learn about their surroundings. When a baby was born in that chaos, then they wouldn't know much about the good life, making life even more miserable.

I agree with Abby. That makes a lot of sense, and it makes you wonder why they didn't do that in the first place. They probably would have had a better life if they were educated.

I totally agree with Tiffany. They could've become like an Albert Einstein if they were educated. Albert Einstein is just an example, by the way.

Although I find education important, in this time period I probably would not care for it that much. To survive you have to be strong and fast otherwise you would die. Yes, education would be a somewhat advantage but if you think about it a scientist would lose to someone in full iron armor with a double sided sword. I disagree that I would be miserable if I knew nothing besides how to talk and I would focus on how to survive. And most people are not that dumb back then, rather they cant study new things and cant make new inventions.

I agree with Josh because education you would not have been important when there were many tribes trying to kill everyone. That and you didn't really need an education to survive.

I would have to disagree about the part where you said that because they didn't know about the good life it made life even more miserable. To me if you didn't know about something how can you yearn for it? I think that not knowing about the better life worked to their advantage.

I agree that no one could get education in the dark ages. Plus, someone could be a doctor to cure the sickness.

I think the worst part was how fast you could die. I mean you could slowly die from a disease eating away at your body like a starving dog eating meat. Or you could die fast from some guy that wants your money and "valuable" property. I mean seeing everyone die around you just to know that you are next is a terrifying experience.

I agree because there isn't that much violence today in terms of arson and pillaging. Sure you can get robbed but much less than a time with no laws.

I agree that dying is scary, but I don't think its the worst part about the dark ages. Dying back then can be just as common as dying today, it was just more frequent during that time, because nobody was truly civilized.

I think that the disappearance of laws and government are the biggest contributor to disease and raids. The government funds scientists to research diseases but without government they have no cures. The government also keeps the creeps of the streets that rob you. Also the government pays for schools which teach people to read and write.

It think the worst part is the diseases, crime, and famine. I'm not really afraid of the actual death part of death. I'm more afraid of the moments before it. You could die peacefully, which isn't very likely back then, or violently and slowly. Slow suffering is the absolute worst in my opinion. These diseases and famine kill you slowly. Torture was also common back then as a crime, I think. That is not a quick death.

I think that the life expectancy made it the worst. At that time, most people died around the age of 20-30. That means if we were living in the dark ages now, we would die in less than ten years, and we wouldn't have Mr. Kaciuba!!!!

I definitely agree Luke, not having Mr. Kaciuba would be a tragedy! Though dying in less than 10 years is also insane and scary! Since life would be shorter it would be a tough rodio. Though even if we didn't have Mr. Kaciuba from lifespan shortage, there wouldn't have been any teachers, so yeahd bak then. sadly either way he wouldn't be there to support us if we live. Though since a boy at the age of 7, is like a man that's 21. This makes it weird that kids so young are put to work. Though I've ran out of things to say, lifespan shortening makes someone's age about 2 times as much as it really is.

I agree with Luke because it was horrible that the life expectancy dropped to years. People were only living for about 20-30 years!

I agree, Luke because the life expectancy was 20 to 30 years in the Dark Ages. If you had 7 children, four of them would be dead by the age of 7.

I think the worst part of the dark ages was the lack of education. If more people were educated there could be more docters. Possibly they could find a way to keep people healthy and help cure diseases.

I agree with you Riley. They could have possibly had doctors or some way to cure diseases with education. Or find new defense ways... I totally agree with you.

I think EVERYTHING was terrible in the dark ages! From people being dumb as dirt, to people dying 10 YEARS EARLIER! I mean picture how life would be, people didn't know anything so every solution is raids or anything with attacking. There is also people dying like your everyday man dying from cause like car crash, or gun shot etc.... Well I am just kidding, you don't see people dying at 20-30! We like lost a lot of lifespan since life was throwing things at us that we couldn't do, because a preschooler could do it, but we were dumber than that then!!! Though it doesn't even end at a lack of government. So without the smarts like a modern scientist today, life was dirt, with 10 years less in life, life became more like dirt. Since there was no Obama back then, it was like committing a crime was an everyday job! Since there was no Obama, nothing was like life today, with people running like bears, attacking people for there "riches" even if the stuff was worse than what they had. Without someone like Obama, everything was like the apocalypse. Now, the crime increases, and oh I shall rant away with this for no reason to rant. So, you're walking around in the casual style, when all of a sudden a person robs you like it's a cliché. This crime is so expectable back then, that people should've been smart enough to prepare for it. Unless without education they couldn't do a single thing? Well either way, since crime became common, dark ages was a battle for keeping your things. Now last, the day-to-day struggles had to be all this COMBINED. I mean think, if daily this was expected and happened, then it's ironic almost how it's a surprise for those people to experience it. Though it must've been hard. This been said, I myself would've tried to stay positive, though I am no magic maker... so I guess I wouldn't like it...

Forgot one thing: Since the dark ages was so bad, I can see why war was a reliable thing. War could've been like your movie, unless something else was then, atleast.

I think that the lack of education is the worst part of the dark ages. People would not have any jobs that you needed to be educated for. Since people were not educated at all, there was no teachers to educate people.

I think that the worst thing was life expectancy dropping 10 years. It was bad because people weren't living very long. The life expectancy should be going up, not down.

I agree with Kyle. It's one thing if the life expectancy drops a year or two; it was probably expected when there was war constantly going on. But the fact that it went down 10 years is really depressing and scary. It truly shows that the dark ages really were dark.

I basically think that everything about the dark ages was terrible. But the lack of education would have to be one of the worst, including day to day struggles... and wars. If there had been education, then maybe the people could possibly make new inventions, find new ways to defend themselves etc. But with the wars happening all the time, how was this possible? Also, with no government to lead them... they were basically hopeless. I think that these are the worst struggles.

I think life expectancy was the worst because people are doing their normal day stuff and then you got people raiding your house like a animal. Also it was awful that the average age of life dropped 10 years!! Finally everybody was acting like herd of wild boars, and having dying at the age of 20 to 30 was awful.

I think the worst part of the Middle Ages was the diseases. Why?Well there are two reasons. The first reason is that you die so quickly instead of dying slowly. The second reason is that there are not a lot of people left to protect the people because there dying of diseases and that people are killing other people.

I think the worst part was the lack of government, without a government the country wasn't protected and it would be lurking with criminals. The country would also be out of money and no one would have anything to use for war or something. I also think no one would be in order because there would be no laws and no one to punish anyone.

I think that the worst thing that happened in the in the middle ages was the day to day struggle of the Bubonic Plauge. The plauge killed thousands of people and needed a lot of resources to find remodies. I think that it was hard for the people of the time to overcome such a loss.

I think the worst part of the dark ages is that the education because if their is no education that means that no one could cure the disease. That means that no one could stop the disease that means so many death of people. this is what i think of what the worst part of the dark ages.
