I would have signed the Magna Carta. I would have signed it so that everything could be fair. I would want everything to be fair and everyone to be treated equally. This would give a better image about me and my kingdom. Thats all that some people or kings wanted.

I'm liking your elaboration on equality... I touched base on it in my comment, but didn't really get in depth with it like you did. ;) Yes, I totally agree that your kingdom would get a better reputation. Silly me, I forgot to explain about that in my comments, but I would have.

I disagree with you Delia because like how I said if I were a King I wouldn't want to follow rules like everyone else.

I disagree because even if he had too much power, he is king and he deserves to have that power. Taking his power and making him sign the magna carta to limit his power makes it seem like he is not even king anymore.

Yes and no yes because, I probably would not want to read all of it and just agree because well I am lazy and not careful. But no if I knew what it was saying and meant to me. So I could probably do both if I was in that situation.

I would have because I just am a very peaceful person. Even if he wasn't I still think it was the right thing to do. I wouldn't want a riot to start.

First of all, King John didn't have a choice whether or not we could sign the Magna Carta, but if I were him, I would say yes(I'm referring to if my personality is different than his.). I would gain support from my people, but also their trust. My nobles will be supportive as well, and not only that, peasants will support me, as well. There will be equality and happiness in the empire.

If I was King John I would´ve signed the magna carta like all you guys have said. First, I would sign it because King John didn´t have a choice to sign it and also it made England more fair for the people>

I would sign the Magna Carta because if I did not I would die. I would also sign it so people would gain support from my people. I would also sign it to have peace in the empire because King John made bad decision to make his empire not safe or unhappy place to live. I would also sign the Magna Carta because I want trust from nobles and peasants it is better for a king to have trust fromn his people.

I can agree Daniel. King John made a mistake by running from his problems. If he would had just gained support from his people, maybe the Magna Carta wouldn't had been needed. Instead of staying and trying to calm the mob, he ran from his castle to out of his town. He could had stayed and helped, but he made the wrong decision, once again.

I agree Daniel, I would sign the Magna Carta, because it was really the right thing to do. John was being selfish, and if he were the nobles or peasants he would see that their lives were really unfair. Their treatment when punished was totally unfair in that there was no cost or system of judgment. The Magna Carta limited the power to send people to jail for doing the smallest thing, or doing a big thing and not being unwished at all. Not to mention his life was on the line, so that's a big reason, too.

In my opinion, King John should had stayed in control while respecting the Nobles. In other words, believe he should had signed and stayed, as I would do the same. I find it crazy that just because of the Nobles limiting his power, he ran away from his problems.

I would of signed the Magna Carta, mainly because if I didn't, I'd be killed. If I wasn't going to be killed I would be reluctant, because who doesn't want to have complete power? It sounds appealing. If I had a choice, no. If I were to be killed, then yes.

I think that in all honesty, I would have signed the Magna Carta. I don't like the idea of having soo much power over everyone, because everyone should be able to just live their life to their liking. And, I wouldn't had the choice due to the nobles.

I would sign the Magna Carta, because it was the right decision. King John only did it it, probably, because he didn't want to die, and loose his spot as king. It was the right decision, because it made everyone's lives more fair, well, almost everyone. It took a longer time to make life fair for the peasants. The upgrades included a system of court, punishments, and laws.

I agree Josie because the king John only signed the Magna Carta because if he did't he would be killed. I also think that if he was not going to be killed he would not sign the Magna carta he only sighed it because he knew he was going to be killed. I also agree because it did make lives more fair for the nobles but still left the peasants life unfair.

If I were him I would have not signed the Magna Carta, but the person I am today says that I would sign it because if fairness. I like to keep things equal and more people like you if you treat them equally. I don't know about you but I want people to like me because I sure don't want people to hate me.

I agree with you too. In modern society, we're taught to be equal, and we have a history of failure to back it up. (That sentence sounds strange. Whoops.) So, modern me would sign it; Middle Ages me wouldn't.

If I were King John, I wouldn't have signed the magna carta because as king I would want all of the power over everyone in my kingdom like kings were supposed to. I would also not like following up the same rules as everyone else. I would also like to make and agree to the rules and not have to be forced upon having no choice in what the rules were.

You have some good points Alisa, however the king was not about to risk the chance of losing his precious Nobles. Also, these rules that he had to follow weren't awful strict rules, I think. They were rules that the rest of the kingdom had to follow, like for example, no stealing livestock or basically anything that you don't own. I think it would be unfair for the king to be able to steal, however his people cannot. He should be the leader that his people should imitate.

Honestly, I would have signed the Magna Carta. I want my citizens and Nobles to respect me and see me as a good person. I need to show that I care about them. Lowering taxes and treating everyone fairly including Nobles. I think you should, as a king, follow your citizens rules except a few as well.

Your right Isabelle, but if you were the queen wouldn't you want more "freedom." Don't you think that it would be pretty cool just to walk by someone and arrest them because they did not bow. In my opinion, that sounds pretty nice.

King John really didn't have a choice. If he did, and I was him, I probably would not sign the Magna Carta. If I did sign the Magna Carta I would have to be as equal as the peasants, witch would not make me more happy.

To begin, King John did not have a choice as to if he would sign the magna carta. If he did, and i was king john, i would sign the magna carta. Kings would have a hard time without nobles, since they own and command knights. Also if the nobles group together and revolt, they would easily be able to overpower me. I would rather lose a bit of power than risk losing all of it

If I were King John, I would have signed the Magna Carta. I say this because I wouldn't want the entire kingdom against me. King John bickered with the Pope, lost two major battles to France, lost land, and also raised taxes to pay for the lost wars. His kingdom was already not happy with him, so why make them even angrier? I understand that you don't want o give up power as a king, but I fear that King John didn't have much of a choice.
