I think the most exciting thing we learned in Rome was learning about Julius Caesar. I think this because Caesar started a Civil war in Rome, which surprised me. It also was kind of scary how the senators of Rome stabbed Caesar 23 times to death. I also found that Caesar being part of the first Triumvirate was also interesting because Caesars adopted sun, Octavian was part of the second one.

I agree it was surprising that he claimed war on his own city and took it down too. though he easily won power and hunted down and killed his enemies.

I agree with you because it was kinda uncalled for when the senate stabbed Caesar 23 times. I also agree with you when you said that since Caesar was part of the 1st Triumvirate, Octavian was part of the 2nd Triumvirate. It reminded me of when a ruler is no longer the ruler, his/her son or daughter will become the next ruler of the country.

You are so right with that. What I thought is why would you stab him 23 times? I think he would be dead by the first one.

I agree with you, Victoria. That was EXTREMELY Uncalled for. But if you only wanted to stab him once and want him to die, It would matter where he was stabbed.

I agree with you Zach Julius Caesar would have been an amazing emperor had he not been stabbed 23 times in the back by his 'backstabbing' best friend and a group of senators.

Its a shame that someone would stab someone just because they think that he would take over.

I found learning about the empire of Rome was the most interesting thing because I Liked learning about all the things they did. Like Constantine who removed the ban on Christianity. Also about Diocletian who was the first one to think that Rome was too big and split it in two.

What I found to be the most exciting part of are roman unit happen to be the 3 Punic wars and how cool all the strategically advanced "play moves" placed by Hannibal and all the cool things done I found it to be quiet thrilling and most entertaining in the roman lines of history. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the role play activity. It took me a long time to create but knowing that you enjoyed it is everything I wanted to hear. I would suggest watching that 2 hr history channel special on my website it focuses even more on Hannibal and his war strategies.

I think the most exciting thing to learn about in Ancient Rome was the Punic Wars. It was fun to learn about the wars because it was interesting hearing how Rome won all 3 wars when Carthage had such an amazing army. I also loved the choose your own story thing, when we were pretending to be Hannibal and his army.

I agree with you, Jayleen. The role playing activity was super fun, even though we were learning while doing it. I thought the Punic wars were very interesting. I thought that Carthage would eventually get revenge on Rome, but they never did.

I agree with you Jayleen that game was very fun. It was also very cool how Hannibal tried to take the war elephants over the Alps mountains. That was a big fail for them. The Romans kicked the Carthaginians butts in the three Punic Wars.

What I thought was most intersting about Rome was how they used elephants in war. I thought that using war elephants was such a bizarre but smart idea. Hannibal was so creative doing that.

The part I found most interesting was learning about the Punic Wars. I liked learning about the elephants that they rode up the mountains and some of the decisions that the Roman Generals made. Some of the decisions were good and some were bad. I think that these wasrs made an impact on history because Rome won all the wars.

I did think that was the most fun for me, too. I thought that the fact that Romans used elephants for transportation and fighting was clever, cunning, and dangerous (considering if one of these huge beasts fell on you, you would be crushed). I thought that this was incredible because how Romans could tame (if they did) and use these huge beasts.

I found that very intresting too. I liked learning how different generals fought during wars. Also I liked learning what some of the fighting positions were, like the Tortoise formation.

I think the most interesting thing we learned in our Rome Unit was the Punic Wars and how Rome had won all 3. A fact I had found incredible was how Romans used elephants to fight and as a source of transportation up the mountains. I think it was dangerous, yet clever and cunning. When looking back on it though, it seems like a idiotic idea. After-all, most did die.

I think the most interesting part was how Rome fell.I mean like...um it was interesting by it getting divided into to 2 parts. The parts were the Eastern & Western with (correct if i'm wrong) the Western having the most chosen place for trades & the Eastern has constantinople as its capital.

I think the most fun thing that we learned about in the Rome unit was the coliseum. This was the most fun thing because it is about violence and death. Who doesn't like death and violence. It is the best part of social studies class.

I agree. I think that the wars were interesting and the fact that they were all won by Rome is pretty cool to see how strong the Roman Army was. The gladiator scenes were really interesting to watch because they showed how the wars were fought.

To me the most exciting thing we learned about in Rome was the Punic wars. I think that because Rome won all three wars which is of course exciting because Rome was what we were learning about. I also liked kind of learning what they did to succeed in the wars. For example we learned about the tortoise formation and those are a few reasons why I think learning about the Punic Wars was the most exciting part of Rome.

My favorite part about learning about Rome was learning about the three Punic wars and doing the role playing game. It was fun trying to decide what Hannibal was going to do. It was surprising tom me that after all that time and all of their small victories, Carthage still lost in the end.

I think the most interesting thing we learned about Rome was the 2nd and 3rd Punic wars. I believe this because This was an ongoing fight between Rome and Hannibal. Another reason is that if Hannibal hadn't decided to take a break from fighting the Romans would have lost.

My favorite thing to learn about Rome was how great and horrible the different rulers could be. The great rulers, who actually did their job of ruling, had such a large impact on Rome. The worse rulers were so different and also had a very large impact on Rome. An example would be Nero, being a worse ruler, persecuting the Christians while Constantine ending it and making Christianity legal.

I think the gladiators were interesting. The way they fought against each other and fought animals. They were mostly slaves and prisoners. They would sometimes fight for their lives. Thumbs up you win thumbs down you die.

The most interesting thing I learned about about Rome was the Emperors. Some of the Emperors were really cruel. They treated some people unfairly.
