I think that the best advancement in Medicine was that they made a medical encyclopedia for future doctors to follow. We still use many medical books for certain things these days. We use the books for how to cure different illnesses and diseases. It is very helpful and it comes in handy every day!💉💊📖😷

I agree with you because that was most likely not known how to treat that kind of stuff by many people back then. I would want to own that for my family!

I agree! Without that book many of their great findings may have been lost, and never discovered again. It also contained other countries medical discoveries.

I definitely agree with you on how we use these books still to help doctors. I find it really cool that they were able to make their own ways of surgery and medicine back then when there wasn't much advanced tools to use!

I totally agree with you Delia! I think having a book that was made to cure all sorts of different diseases and illnesses back then would be great for me. I also think about what our medicines would be like if the Muslims never created it? Would we still be suffering from all those diseases today? Hopefully not.

By the way really great question! I had to go back into my notes that we took to answer this question! I usually don't have to go back to remind me!😀 But I still think that everything that the Muslims invented are very helpful to our everday lives! Including coffee!☕😁

Thank the Muslims for the Coffee!! I don't only agree with that but I liked how you pointed out that the encyclopedia is very important to us today because the Muslims had invented it back then, but who knew that a book that shared "recipes" and medicines would greatly affect our nation today.

I think the best invention was stitches. We still use them today. They were cat guts.

That was still very gross that they used cat guts and ant heads. But you are right, people still use and need stitches everyday. Like I said, when Mr. Kaciuba told us that I felt like I was going to vomit!😲

I think the invention of the encyclopedia was the best medicine related object the Muslims created. It's also so fascinating how we still use it in some cases today! Their encyclopedia created magnificent cures for small pocks and other very deadly diseases.

I think the best advancements for medicine is the book that they made. I think this is the best because it is very helpful if they ever forgot how to cure. It could come in handy for the population not to go down. Also it can teach students about medicine and help them become better doctors.

I agree with you, Oscar. If the cure they made was, for example, a food or drink, then it would most likely have specific ingredients. It is easy to forget how you made something. Think about it. Today, many still use recipes that are written down, so I agree that was very smart of the Muslims to write down their discoveries in a medical encyclopedia.

I'm going to have to say that the invention of the encyclopedia is one of the most important inventions we use today. Not only did it help share the secrets of medicines to help treat illnesses like the Small Pox back then, but there is now a source of medical information we can refer to in hospitals and even the doctor's office.

Claire, I totally agree. I'm sure, that the medical encyclopedia has had some modifications made to it, but you made a good point that our present-day doctors may still use some of the diagnosis and curing methods that the Muslims used if the first encyclopedia.✨

I completely agree with you Claire. Without the encyclopedia many more people would have died from all diseases and sicknesses, one being small pox, if there had been no encyclopedia. I wonder if we would have the medical knowledge and information that we have now if they hadn't made the first medical encyclopedia .

I think one of the Muslim's greatest discoveries was treating surgeries and other open wounds. Knowing how to treat those types of wounds made them a stronger empire, because they could treat their soldiers wounds and possibly lose less men in their battles.

I agree that knowing how to do that is important josie. I just think that writing that down afterward is even more important for future reference. Especially for younger generations and new doctors. I do see where you are coming from though.

I believe the greatest advancement in Muslim medicine was their medical encyclopedia. Surely, you may think their cure for smallpox would be the greatest, but think about it; the encyclopedia itself was filled with this, and many other remedies and prevention methods. The result of it being introduced to other countries meant that more and more physicians have broadened their spectrum of knowledge in medicine, thus leaving their patients with good health.

I think the greatest advancement by the Muslims for medicine is the book because when you use every ones ideas you can make great things like the cure for small pox. Also I think the book was the best because you used every ones knowledge so if a disease comes from India and you live in Europe and it comes your country then you have knowledge from India to have a cure. Also it can help kids if you move to a different country then you know how to cure a disease in a different ..

I think that their best invention was the medicine books/encyclopedias because we just fixed it up a bit but we still use it today in the field of medicine. It shows our and their understanding of medicine and helps doctors and nurses.

I totally agree! The encyclopedia was a great advancement in the field of medicine. It told doctors how to treat their patients. This was huge, and people began to use these book all the time. It saved many lives, more than just one guess on how to cure small pox would ever had.

The biggest accomplishment in the field of medicine was the encyclopedia on how to treat woulds and disease. This saved many lives but even some disease. This was a major lifesaver, literally, but not all of their techniques were sanitary. One of them included sticking your fingers in someones thought until they throw up, this caused all the guts that spilled out to come back into the body.

I believe that that the biggest accomplishment in the field of medicine is the medical encyclopedia. I think that this is the biggest accomplishment because it saved peoples lives. This really helped with figuring out what was wrong and what you needed to heal. Without the encyclopedia many more people would have died from different diseases and sicknesses. This encyclopedia didn't always have the most clean suggestions but many people like I said were saved.

We should thank the Muslims. Not only for coffee, but also for the medical encyclopedia. Without that we would pretty much be spreading sicknesses and diseases that cannot be treated quickly nor easily!📉📔

(Nvm about what I said last time) I think that the Muslims made a wonderful book for learning about medicine and things like that. if we did not have the medicine books we would not have doctors. Without doctors we would not be able to get healed or we would be really, really sick. To the point were we could die. I think that the medical book is the best Muslim advancement in the field of medicine.

I think the medical book is the biggest advancement in the Muslim advancements. If nobody wrote down the cure to something they already know how to cure then if that generation dies off and nobody else knows how to cure that illness and it becomes a big problem again then your looking at most of the population becoming ill or dying. So I guess I agree with Tony because we both have the same perspective on this.

I think the greatest Muslim advancement for medicine is the idea of creating a medical encyclopedia. I think this is their greatest advancement because when they wrote down their cures or discoveries, others who have the book can improve from it. Also, when the Muslims discovered that you need to clean your tools after they have been used. This is important because it helps prevent disease spreading between the patients
