I would like my country to be a republic because, A republic is a lot less chaotic than a monarchy. In a republic you get to at least have a say of who you want to be your leader. Your leader may not win, but at least you can vote. I would also like to live in a republic because everyone agrees to the laws that would be passed. That is why I would like to live in a republic.

I agree with you Cheyenne because I think that it is nice how everyone can vote and be included. I also agree with you when you said that being in a Monarchy can have a lot of chaos because the leader can be crazy and have unfair rights.

I would prefer my country to to be a Republic. I would want my country to be a Republic because if my country was a Monarchy, then the ruler might be like a tyrant, so the country would have a lot of chaos, which is completely different from a Republic. Another reason why being in a Republic is better because, in a Republic, everyone can vote but in a Monarchy, you might not be able to vote. That is why I would rather have a republic in my country.

I agree with both Myles and Cheyenne. My reason is in a republic everyone the age 18 and up has the freedom to vote so no one gets left out now if we turn it into a monarchy that's our fault. My other reason is because I mean we could have a good king but what if we have a bad one that destroyed everything.

I too agree with both Myles, and Cheyenne. All adults in that time period should have the right to vote. The fact that the new leader can become a tyrant. And the fact that we can all vote on who we elect.

I would prefer my country to be a republic. People should have the right to vote. In a monarchy, most of the time, the younger one that is up next to be the ruler will most likely act exactly like their father. If the father was a cruel, tyrant/dictator, the people will not be happy with the outcomes of how they are/will be treated. But when the peoples vote for who they decide should be leader, how they are treated are the faults of the people for voting for that specific person.

I agree with Austin T. The father probably raised his son to his interests. Women didn't have many rights back then, so if the mother intervened, the father would just do as he pleases. Like father, like son!

I agree with Austin T. People should have the right to vote. Not everyone will be happy in a Monarchy because the leader can be very bad. In a Republic, everyone has to work together, not just one person.

I would prefer my country to be a republic. It would be fair to the citizens because they would be able to vote. If it was a monarchy, somebody would take power just like Tarquin in Rome. Many people would be treated unfairly and there would be a lot of bloodshed in the process. There would be no positives for anybody. There is a chance that the king could be a good ruler, but there is also a chance the king could be a tyrant. In a republic there would be a less of a chance for chaos. The people could vote and if the leader the people voted was cruel, the senate could help. This is why I would have a republic over a monarchy.

Sebastian I agree with your point that in a republic the people can vote on their leader which is the biggest difference between a Monarchy and a republic. But what if the candidates in the republic are both bad options? What happens to the large majority of the population whose candidate does not win. They are stuck with ruler they don't like, at least in a Monarchy you do not have the possibility to lose the candidate you want to win. Finally, in a monarchy what if the ruler is awesome that ruler can have power for life. In a republic a president can only be in power for 8 years max which limits his ability to make major changes.

I would choose a Republic. I would choose a Republic because in a Republic everyone has a chance to choose their leader. Monarchies also cause a lot of commotion. When you are in a Republic, not just one person has power. When you are in a monarchy, one person has power. That is not good.

I agree with you Regis. A republic is more safe than monarchies because most monarchies they mostly end with death and destruction.Whereas in a republic, its a more civilized fair way for people to choose a leader.

I would choose republic. Only because it's only fair for the citizens to have the freedom to pick who their leader is. For the citizens to all make and agreement on who would benefit them the most. For any problems the country may be having, it would be better if they got to choose who would take care of those problems. So it doesn't end up with someone who will destroy the whole country because of small flaws they had made in their planning. I only see it fit to have it be a republic so the people have the freedom of a choice. To have their opinion matter, and affect their daily lives.

If I could choose, I would say a republic. In a republic, multiple people choose. Also, many monarchies end up with many people or kings dying; And from there on its chaos.

I would choose Republic over a Monarchy. Republic is defined as having a political system. Monarchy is led by the government, which is lead by a king or queen .So Republic is better because you can vote for who you want to win.
