The vikings were vicious and terrifying for the people of Medieval Europe. They were seen as especially ruthless because their favorite places to attack were churches and monasteries. Do you think it was right or wrong for the vikings to attack monasteries and churches? Why?

I don't think that it was wrong for the vikings because they didn't believe in God. The churches and monasteries were not protected and the monks did not know how to fight. To them it was a building that was full of riches waiting to be plundered.

I agree with you Sebastian. Monks weren't trained to fight they were taught to do almost everything but that. And since churches would make people pay to go to church, they were rich.

I agree with you Sebastian. My reason is because they didn't believe in god so it didn't really matter. Also it was easy to attack so why not

I disagree with you Sebastian R. Even though the vikings do not believe in God, it is not right for them to destroy some one elses place of worship. It was also mean because the monks would not even fight them back.

I agree with you Sebastian. Monks were untrained fighters that were filthy rich. And since Vikings didn't believe in Christianity they just raided the building.

I believe that it was wrong for the Vikings to attack monistaries and churchs. I believe that this was wrong because, the monistaries and churches were places of worship. I think that it was wrong for the fact that the Vikings attacked the church's and monistaries and robboed them. Now it could be harder for the people to get together and praise their God. I also think that what the Vikings did was wrong because, the Vikings would not like it if the place where Odin and Thor lived was attacked and robbed. I believe that this is a treat someone how you want to be treated kind of situation. The people that go to monistaries and churches don't like what the Vikings did to the church and monistaries, and the Vikings would not like it if the people that do go to the church and monistaries did the same thing to the Vikings. This is why I believe that the Vikings attacking monistaries and churches is wrong.

I agree with Myles because churches and monasteries are places to have peace and worship your god. Churches are no place for war. There was no need for them to attack because even though they thought of the people as riches they weren't all very rich snotty. Some just went to church for a peaceful place.

As the saying goes "All is fair in love and war." But I think in this case it was not fair or right that the Vikings attacked churches and monasteries. I get why they did it...less chance of getting harmed, the churches had tons of money and they did not believe in Christianity so they did not fear killing holy men. But come on! These vikings are supposed to be fierce warriors. How does killing monks and priests make them tough?

I agree with Mr. Kaciuba. The Vikings got the advantage by attacking the churches and monasteries. But, they don't have to just attack the strong people. They can prey on the weak people if they have a lot of riches. I think valuables, like money, are the motives of the vikings attacking churches and monasteries.

I think it wasn't wrong, if I was a viking, I would definitely choose churches and monasteries. 1. It gives you a much less chance of getting hurt, and 2. MONEY. Churches would take advantage of the Christians religion, they would make them pay to come into church and tell people that if you didn't come to church, you wouldn't go to heaven.

I agree with Izzy. I think it was ok for vikings to steal from churches and monasteries too. Yeah, it was mean, but vikings were just doing what they learned to do... Steal

I think that it was ok for vikings to attack churches and monasteries because they didn't follow that religion. Since they didn't follow that religion it didn't really matter if they stole everything from a church. Thats's why I chose that it was ok for the vikings to invade churches and monasteries.

I disagree with you Cheyenne W. I disagree because, churches and monistaries were peaceful places where people had worship. Even though the Vikings did not believe in God, I still think that it was bad for the Vikings to destroy a peaceful place of worship. Also, the monks could not fight in the first place, so that was really unfair. Lastly, I think that the Vikings robing churchs and monistaries was bad because, the money could be used for something that the churchs and monistaries need. People that pay the money think that their sins will be forgiven if they pay the money, but if they are robboed, than the people can think that they are going to Hell since their sins are not forgiven. This is why I disagree with you Cheyenne W.

I think it was ok for vikings to raid Christian holy places.First of all, they were not Christian. They believed in pagan gods.Plus, the needed their resources so it was kind of essential.

To me its both because it depends on who you are religious wise. If you were a viking you would think Christianity is fake so you wouldn't care. Vikings dont believe in Jesus or God. They believe in Odin and Thor. They believe in going to Asgard not heaven. On the other hand if you were a Christian you would be upset or furious that a religious building was destroyed.

In my perspective it's wrong because I believe in God.In their defense they didn't believe in God so why not. They didn't really care about the Christian god they cared about their god so I think it's wrong but at the same time right.

I dont think it is wrong because the vikings believed in the Norman gods and going to Valhalla not heaven. And they didn't believe in god they believed in a group of gods they were polythiestic.

I think it was wrong for the vikings to attack churches and monasteries. I think this was wrong because a church is a place where people go to pray to God. It would be disrespectful to destroy a place of worship. If the vikings had a place of worship, I am pretty sure that they would not like people to destroy and steal from their place of worship.

I think it was wrong to attack churches and monasteries. I believe this because would you want other people to attack you. Also if would you want anybody else to attack monasteries and churches to ruin your religion. This is why I think that it was wrong for the Vikings to attack churche and monasteries.

I don't think it was wrong. It wasn't really wrong because the Vikings didn't believe in god. So they didn't really have a reason not to. If they believed in god then it would be different.

I think it was both okay and bad for the vikings destroying churches. I think it was okay because they did not believe in god. But at the same time it was wrong because they are ruining someone else place of worship.

I believe that it was not okay for them to attack monasteries and churches. I believe this because even though they did not believe in the same religion as the churches it is not right to just destruct someones place of worship. Would they like it if the church came and destroyed their place of worship ?

I think it was wrong of the vikings to attack the churches and monasteries. I think this because churches were meant for a place to worship your god and have peace. Not war and fighting. Also not all people who went to churches were rich and snotty, some just wanted to have peace and not rough life.

I think that it was okay because they weren't a part of the other person's religion. People think that it is ruthless but if you think about it in their point of view, they think that the other religions are in the wrong religion. So what do they do, they fix it.
