I think what was the most interesting thing is that Hannibal used war elephants. I think that because from what I've learned no one else has ever did that before. And because it's really cool to see someone use the resources that a lot of people don't have.

I agree with Eli. I also think that war elephants were cool. Their huge tusks plowed through the Roman soldiers impaling every single one. Dead bodies dangling from the tusks. Blood seeping from the bodies. Also on top of the elephants were archers firing and hitting the Roman soldiers while they ran away from the elephants. this was one of the best methods.

I'm glad you enjoyed the role play activity. It took me a long time to create but knowing that you enjoyed it is everything I wanted to hear. I would suggest watching that 2 hr history channel special on my website it focuses even more on Hannibal and his war strategies.

I agree with Eli. I also thought that the elephant were a clever thing to use in the war because they are bigger than the people and they can dominate other people.

I agree with Eli because Hannibal made use with the elephants. It was cool what he came up with the idea to put sharp blades on their tusks. He used them for a good reason. This is why I agree with Eli.

Nero was an emperor that affected Rome negatively. Him persecuting Christians was sad and angering. People who were friends with Christians turned their backs on 'em. Nero lied, he did about the great fire that wiped out a chunk of Rome. He started it. And then blamed it on the Christians. Christians were executed and tortured just for their religion. This was truly horrific. People being burned alive, fed to hungry beasts. Forced to fight, This was the life of the emperor Nero.

I agree with you Austin T because I agree that Nero persecuting the Christians was very sad and angering because that was not nice for him to do. I also agree with you that it is scary for the fact that Christians were being tortured and killed. This is why I agree with Austin T.

I think that the most worrisome thing that happened in Rome is when Rome was being attacked leading to Rome's fall. I think that it can be scary knowing that you have a chance to be a slave or be killed. When Rome is attacked, normally, all of the citizens would depend on the army but Rome was being attacked by multiple armies which then you don't have a good chance of winning, which then, you can feel worried for the fact that you might die which worried me. That is why the fall of Rome made me worried.

I agree with you Myles! It's true that the thought of being killed or being made a slave is pretty scary. I don't think anyone would want that. But, I guess that's just how Rome decided to work, and sadly, we can't change that.

I agree with you Myles because the Romans were starting to know that they were going to be killed or turned to slaves when Rome was the one that did it to other civilizations.

The most exciting thing I learned about had to be when we learned about the Roman Emperors. Nearly all, of them were bad, especially Nero! I remember that Nero caused the huge fire of Rome in 64 B.C. and then blamed it on the Christians!

I agree with you Izzy. It was pretty exciting talking about Roman emperors. I think that Nero was the worst emperor. I think that it was wrong for Nero to set a fire and blame it on the christains.

I think that the favorite thing that we did and learned in Rome was the fighting formations. When we went outside and did the tortoise and threw paper at them.

I thought that it was unfair to execute someone for there beliefs. I feel bad for the people because they should have a right to belief what they belief. I think that they just wanted to kill the people for sport.

My favorite part of this Roman Unit was the role play. I liked the role play because I liked acting like the Romans and getting into the tortoise formation. If we had the option, I definitely would do this again.

My favorite part of the unit was the Carthaginian war. I liked how Mr. Kaciubia brought the roman helmet into class. I also liked watching the movie gladiator, to watch people reenact what happened in Rome. Learning about Hannibal's strategies interested me because even though he was outnumbered, he fought cleverly and almost defeated Rome.

I also enjoyed all of these things too Sebastian. One of my favorites were also Hannibals strategies because they were very clever and I wouldn't think that anyone from back then would be able to come up with these ideas. I feel that I didn't think of people back then as smart as we are today because they didn't have technology back then but then Hannibal really made me change my perspective on that.

I think the most exciting thing we have learned so far is learning about emperor Nero in Rome. When they said that he killed his brother, mother, wife, and girlfriend, I was surprised. I don't understand how he could have killed 4 people he loved. ( At least I hope he loved them) That is something that I thought was exciting.

I think the most interesting thing in Rome was when Rome started to fall. It was interesting to see how the fell and why. One of the reasons of why Rome fell was because it was too large. Making it too hard to communicate. Also, making it hard to defend and govern.

I think the most worrisome is all the reasons leading to why Rome fell. Because when you think of then you realize that some of those could possibly happen to our country or may be happening right now. And then you think of the after math of all of them and I realize that most of them could also happen to us. Especially with what is going on in the world right now. And some of our country's issues may lead to the fall of us just like Rome.

I found the role play activity the most exciting because it was fun getting to use tortoise formation with shields and pretend as if we were the Romans at war. I think that tortoise formation was a very smart idea because it kept them all safe everywhere because it was covering the front and on top. It was a very smart strategy to keep them safe.

I think Most fun thing we learned about in Rome were the wars and the battle formations. Like When we went outside for the tortus formation. It was beneficial to me as a student because it gave me a more specific idea I what they did while fighting in battle.
