I think that the Mediterranean climate would be the to live in. Not only does the weather allow agriculture, it also is near a fresh source of water. The vegetation isn't to thick, the summers aren't to hot or dry and there is usually a fresh source of water nearby.

I agree with Daniel S. that the Mediterranean climate zone would be the best to live in. Just because it has pretty much everything you need to start a civilization it allows agriculture, it also is near a fresh water source. The vegetation isn't to thick, the summers aren't to hot or dry and there is usually a fresh source of water nearby.

I think the best climate would be the savanna because most of the animals live there so there would be a lot of food to have right in front of you. Instead of having to walk a couple of miles you would only have to walk at least a mile there and a mile back. Also it wouldn't be that hard to go farming since there still is a lot of fertile land there

I agree with you Jacob the abundance of animals is helpful. The only problem with that is water. There aren't many fresh water sources, you would have to walk at least a mile there and back plus, protecting yourself from animals.

I think that the best climate zone to live in would have to be the savanna. I think this because the savanna has a lot of animals to kill and eat, so it will be hard to run out of food. The savanna also has very fertile land, from all of the animal waste.

I agree with Connor that food is abundant in the Savanna so the civilization would not have to worry about this. Also the Niger is located in the savanna so water is available. This creates a good living condition.

I think the best environment for a civilization to thrive near is on the Niger river in the Savanna. I think that this place will work out because the Niger provides water for the society and also most animals live on the Savanna. So not only is water available but also food, such as water buffalo one of the big five animals. Also Mansa Musa made Africa a good trading place after he "put it on the map". What I mean is that because of his pilgrimage to Mecca, other civilizations knew that Africa was wealthy or rather Mali, making it a travel destination for trading. If we were found in the Savanna in West Africa we could feed off of Mali's new found popularity if we were in the same period of time. We would trade with them and that would save us from far tiring travels although this could be a disadvantage. A disadvantage because by traveling you learn about religion, art, and people/civilizations in general. From what we have learned the savanna located in West Africa is a great location for a successful civilization. I based where I would place a thriving civilization on prior knowledge that we learned in class and civilization notes.

I agree with Sofie Y. I think the best climate zone to live in would be the Savanna. It would be a great place because there is a nice river for water. Also there is a lot of animals to play with and eat :(. Also, you would not have to pay attention to the kids because they can just run around in the grass all day.

I agree with Sofie. The best place for a civilization would be next to the Niger River. First of all you have the water as a resource, and plus it would be a great place to plant.

I think the Rain Forest id by far the best place to live. There are a bunch of trees that you can climb on. Also, the trees almost hide you from invaders. That way, they will not know you are there and they will go attack your enemies. Even though farming is hard, there are animals all over the place.

I do not agree with you Annabel. I agree that the vegitation is thick enough to hide from invaders, but it is low on survival percentage because of how many things could kill or poison you.

A good climate would be the Mediterranean. And that is because it doesn't have thick vegetation as the rainforest. Then you have the agriculture. And finally you have the not to hot or cold.

I would build a civilization in a rain forest because you would have loads of water and there would be a lot of animals and insects nearby for food, and you would get rain almost every day for water, there would be a lot of resources nearby such as trees some plans and branches you could use twigs and branches to build small houses to live on in.

Then you have a bunch of trees, grass, and plants that can provide food for you. Plus, there are plenty of animals there so you can either hunt them, or they can also have the food. If you plan on using the animals.
