If you were Theodora would you have convinced Justinian to stay and fight the Nika Rebellion or would you have let him go? What would you have said to convince him?

If I was Theodora I would try to get Justinian to stay. I would say something along the lines of "I don't know about you but if I die I'd like to die standing up for myself." Since this is somewhat similar to what Theodora actually said Justinian might actually stay and fight. Even if he didn't I would still stay and fight.

Sameize! I agree with Daniel S. because no matter what happens if I was Theodora it would take more than one talk to convince him to stay. So that is what would have probably happened if I was Theodora.

I agree with you Daniel. If I were Theodora I would've tried to convince him to stay. I would've said about the same thing you did about dying for standing up for yourself. I also would have added something about Justinian not running away from his problems and that he should try to overcome them.

I definitely agree with you. The only problem would be that if Justinian did leave I don't think anyone would let Theoadora continue to rule on her own.

I think that Theodora made the right decision but I may not have made the same decision. I think that if I grew up as a selfish Roman or just in that time period, I would probably let him go. I say this because I would choose to rule alone. I would know that I was clever enough to kill of the rebels as a punishment. In history I've noticed that there is always a punishment. P.S. I know that this sounds brutal, but hey that's the past!

I agree with Sofie, and how Theodora made the right decision to convince Justinian to stay and fight. I probably would not of made the same decision as Theodora, because I would of thought "Oh I can handle this by myself.", but I probably would of died.

I agree with Sofie Y. completely. To add on to what she is saying, I would not waste my time and effort and beg him to stay because Justinian can do what he wants to do on his own. I would rule on my own without a man to help me. Back then, woman did not rule much and I would take that opportunity to change that .Theodora could of changed history.

I agree with Annabel I wouldn't beg Justinian to stay he can make his own decisions. I think Theodora could of ruled by herself and changed history like Annabel said.

If I was Theodora no matter what happens it would take more than one talk to convince him to stay. So that is what would have probably happened if I was Theodora. If not I would not be able to convince him to stay. So I would have to stop the Nika Rebellion on my own.

I disagree with you Tyler H, because the soldiers are loyal to the emperor so they would just would have followed the emperor out to sea and you would have to fight the Nika rebelion all by yourself.

If I was Theodora I would of let Justinian go because I would think that I could handle it by myself, and that I didn't need anybody to help me. Of course I would choose to persuade Justinian if I had the knowledge that I had today, but if I didn't have the knowledge that I know today then I would have chosen to let Justinian go. Of course if I did choose to let Justinian go then I would have probably died.

I disagree with you Connor H. because the emperor is the main leader so the army would follow Justinian. Even without the knowledge of today you probably still would try to persuade Justinian.

I agree with Daniel about disagreeing what Connor said. If Justinian would of left, most of the troops would of left with him. Then the byzantine empire would not have a lot of troops or a leader which would make the byzantine empire weaker.

I agree with Connor because It would be his decision to stay not mine. He could come back when its later and all done.

I agree with you Connor. I would have let him go because if he wants to leave he can leave. That also makes him look like a coward.

I agree that I or Theodora, would be just fine as a solo ruler. I also believe that I would not be as clever as Justinian. But I think that I could have found a way to beat the rebels. I do have to disagree that I would have died because I think that since I was considered "street smart" so I could have probably killed off people and stay alive!

I would tell him to stay and I would tell him. Don't be a chicken and run away and be remembered as the emperor who ran away when things get tough, be remembered as the emperor who actually did something

I agree with you Jacob. I mean no one would want to be known as a quitter or chicken. Everybody would rather be known as a fighter who stays.

I would have let Justinian go if I was Theodora. One if he does't want to stay then he doesn't have to stay. It also makes him looks like he fleeing from his problems. Even if he did leave his troops would of killed them.

I would have asked him to stay, but if he said no I would not have chased him. I would have said, "It's your decision, but if you leave you'll be remembered as a quitter who left when things got tough." Then he would feel offended and stay to fight.

I agree with Alex. If he would like to be a coward and run I would let him but hopefully he would end up staying and fighting. Although I would stay and fight still. I would have let Justinian go if he wanted to though.

If I were Theodora, I would convince Justinian to stay and fight. I would do that because if he left than the Roman civilization would turn to chaos. Also I know that he does survive. Justinian was a good leader so it would be good if he stayed.

I agree with what Theodora told Justinian. I would tell him to stay and not die a coward. They have soldiers to keep them safe until the rebellion ends so I feel it would be smart and still safe to stay.

If I were Theodora I probably wouldn't have tried to convince Justinian to stay. He can make his own decisions and do what he wants to do. it wouldn't be worth it to try to convince him. I would probably say " Do what you want to do its up to you to make that decision to fight or give up and leave."

I would have convinced Justinian to stay. I would have said they are going to hunt for you if you run off also you will be known as a coward. So stay, fight, and win the battle against the Nika rebellion. I would have said that to convince Justinian if I were Theodora.

I agree with Veronica that Justinian would be traced down and known as the coward. It's not any better to be wanted and known of as something bad than to just die trying to fight for your beliefs. I would have told Justinian to stay as well.

If I was Theodora I would have convinced him to stay and fight. I wouldn't want to be known as the wife of an emperor who just left. I would have told Justinian "You can leave and be homeless and be known as nothing. Or fight and be known as an strong emperor.

I would have told Justinian to stay and fight. I would have done this because I would've wanted what was best for him which would be to stay and die as a brave leader rather than leave and be known as the wimp that was to scared. I would have told him this no emperor would want the last memory of them to be getting scared and going away.
