I think that the Hagia Sophia is Justinian's greatest accomplishments. I think that because it only took six years to build, it was built without cranes, and it is still standing today! It is also beautiful. I am very impressed at this beautiful landmark!

I agree with Callie the Hagia Sophia is Justinian's greatest accomplishment. I thought it was impressive that they built the church using levees and pulleys.

I agree with you because it is pretty cool how they built it without cranes and stuff and all by hand.

I disagree with Callie because even though the Hagia Sophia is impressive, and one of the things I listed, I still think it was not the greatest. I think the creation of Justinian's code was the greatest because it is still used today and the laws before it were not so great.

I agree with Callie because the fact the Hagia Sofia was just built in 6 years makes it incredible. And how beautiful it is.

I think the Hagia Sophia was one of the greatest accomplishments of Emperor Justinian. It was built in such a short time, 6 years (pretty short, compared to today). All they used were levees and pulleys to get all the materials to build the huge church, now mosque. It is the biggest unsupported dome in the world. Over time different people changed it to become what it is today.

I agree with Lidia. The Hagia Sophia was only built in six years, which was short for that time! They had to do it without cranes and modern technology, which is even more impressive.

I agree! It was one of the greatest accomplishments of Justinian. The basilica, now mosque, only took 6 years to build. All they had to use were levers and pulleys! The dome is the largest unsupported dome in the world, so it probably wasn't very easy to build.

I agree, the Hagia Sophia was built in such a short amount of time. Today, street roads can even take over a decade to build. It went through many historical events, including itself being built.

The greatest accomplishment emperor Justinian did was build the Hagia Sophia. I think it was his greatest accomplishment because it only took six years to build the church. The Hagia Sophia has the biggest unsupported dome in the world. Back then there where no cranes so they had to use levees and pulleys to build the church.

I agree! The Hagia Sophia was probably one of the greatest accomplishment by Emperor Justinian. No advanced technology and it is the biggest unsupported dome in the world, I think even now. It it is so great, and it was just made with levees and pulleys to carry materials up and down the church. I wish I could go there and see it for myself!

I disagree because really all the Higia Sophia did was look cool, the thing is in order to get money to do this he taxed people which started the nika rebellion. he did so much more like re-conquering the rest of the Mediterranean areas or the Justinian code.

I agree with Kelby. The Nika rebellion was caused by the Hagia Sophia's funding tax which in turn caused nearly all of Constantinople to fall to ruins.

In my opinion the Hagia of Sofia was the greatest accomplishment because it was only built in SIX years which was really fast back then also it had the largest unsupported dome also there where no cranes or trucks to move the stuff around they did it all by hands using levees and pulleys to build the church

In my opinion the Hagia Sofia is Justinian's greatest accomplishment, because of how quickly it was built, I mean in six years they created a huge church well now it is a mosque, but still. Also they used a technique that never worked before and created a large unsupported dome. I am also impressed that they with no cranes and only levees and pulleys. I also think that the purpose of the Hagia Sophia was to show Justinian's power and gods power.

I think that Justinian's greatest accomplishment was that he reclaimed Roman territory. Rome was one of the greatest empires in history, and Justinian wanted to reclaim what was Rome. He took back the territory, and even expanded it!

I think that the Hagia Sophia was Justinian's greatest accomplishment because he built the giant thing in only 6 years. Yes, that might not seem very quick compared to stuff that is built today, but they didn't have as much technology as we do today. All they had were levers and pulleys! Also, the dome on the Hagia Sophia is very large, so is wasn't very easy to build.

I disagree with Jamie. I disagree with Jamie because the Hagia of Sophia was very impressive but I think that putting down the Nika Rebellion was the most impressive. I think this is the most impressive because many people were rebelling over these taxes. Most of the rich people were mad at him because they had never had to pay taxes. So with the help of Theodora he stood his ground. He made a trap and had his men kill all of the people rebelling over these knew taxes that Justinian needed to accomplish all of the stuff he wanted to do. He wanted to reconquer Rome's land and build the Hagia of Sophia. It is also better because the building of the Hagia of Sophia was too much money. The Hagia of Sophia would not even stay a church so I think the Nika Rebellion was the greatest Justinian Accomplishment.

Putting down the rebels of the Nika rebellion I think was more cruel than anything. Violent protests are never the answer but to kill 30,000 people is ruthless. And that is exactly what Justinian did. I think the Hagia Sophia is pretty impressive. Building any structure that large and that fast (6 years), without the modern technically we have today is unimaginable. I think it was smart to rush the building of the project so he would get/ be given credit for its construction.

I agree! The Zika rebellion was really cool. Thea convincing Justinian to stay was impressive. I thought to myself " Heh, girls ARE powerful. " It was pretty bloody, but cool went Justinian locked 30,000 people, and POOF. They all disappear. AKA, they died.

I agree with Jamie because six years is very quick to build a building with just levers and pulleys. It was large so the higher up the went with the building the more hard it would be to build the Hagia Sophia

I believe that Justinian's greatest accomplishments was the Justinian code because this made it easier to understand the twelve tables. People before this had really no clue what the laws were and made it easy for the wealthy to persecute the poor. So the Justinian code made it fair for the people of "Rome" to understand the laws, which is why I think the Justinian code was Justinian's greatest accomplishments.

I think Justinian's greatest accomplishment was the Hagia Sophia. One reason I think that the Hagia Sophia was his greatest accomplishment is that it only took him six years to build it, also it was built without anything to lift the things with sol they had to build it by hand. Another reason was that the Hagia Sophia was huge and it is still standing today

I think Justinian's greatest accomplishment was putting down the Zika Rebellion. It was bloody, since he killed 30,000 rich people. Rich people don't pay taxes, but Justinian made the rich pay the taxes. The rich got mad, reeeaallllyyyy mad, and burned a lot of churches, house etc. Justinian said for all the rich people to gather in the... colosseum for medieval Europe, and just talk. All 30,000 people went there and got killed instead.

I think that the Hagia Sophia and creating the Justinian code were Justinian's greatest accomplishments. I think the Hagia Sophia was one of his greatest accomplishments because 1) he built it in such little time, for how massive it is, 2) it is massive, and 3) it is absolutely beautiful. I think that the creation of Justinian's code was also one of his greatest accomplishments because 1) it was a building block for the laws we have today, 2) it was a huge step up from the original laws, and 3) it is still used today.

I think Justinian's greatest accomplishment was the Hagia Sophia. Because it only took the builders six years to build it without and motorized vehicles to help. Just only by scaffoldings and probably rope.
