In my opinion, the most interesting thing we learned about Rome was when we were learning about the good and bad emperors. The emperor I dislike the most, was Nero because he was a young emperor which made him some what irresponsible. For example, when Nero caused a humongous fire, he blamed it all on the Christians and from that day on Christian's where persecuted for their beliefs, and they couldn't say that they never caused the fire because no one would believe them.

I agree with you Arianna. I see how said that he irresponsible because he was young. Plus yes the Christian would have no say because no one would believe them.

I agree Arianna! I always find it interesting to look at the leaders of different civilizations and how they are different or similar to ours. The crazy part is we only learned about a handful of rulers. There are so many more we didn't discuss in class. I always wonder what history books will say about our presidents in the future. Will we look back at Clinton, the Bush's, Obama, & Trump as heroes that made America a powerful nation or will they be seen as the start of the end of America. I guess only time will tell.

In the Rome unit what I found most interesting/fun was , learning about the fighting formations .I liked it this most because we did an outdoor activity which was really fun.It was cool to see what the Roman soldiers did during battle. It also shows you why its the most well know fighting formation and why it the Roman army was dominating.

The best part of Rome was when we were talking about war. One in particular was the Punic wars. Hannibal was really cool and how he brought 50 elephants over the alps. But then he lost because They killed his father.

Logan, I also think it was cool how many elephants Hannibal managed to get over the alps. I also think it was cool how the romans didn't know what elephants were. Is that all you think was cool about Hannibal.

I think the most fun thing we did in class was the tortus formation because we actually got to figure out how they did it. We also really did the formation outside. The most confusing thing was when Rome fell. The reason I fell it was confusing was because if I were to deal with it I would have told everyone on the west side to abandon it and come to the east.

I believe that Rome's army was the most interesting. I think Rome's army is most interesting because it has a long history. Like how it destroyed every army it had see. Also it has many formations, which one being the tortoise formation. This is what I think was most interesting about Rome.

I agree with you Logan. I also think that Romes army was interesting to learn about because, the army was what Rome depended on. If the Roman army lost a battle, they would lose resources, land, citizens could be enslaved or punished too. I also think that learning how to do the tortoise formation was fun because I kind of felt like a Roman in battle!

I agree with you Logan. The army of Rome was pretty cool. I think their formations are very clever. And it must be pretty hard to protect such a vast amount of land, but they manage for quite a while. They must be a pretty strong army overall, in tactics, and strength.

In my opinion learning about all the emporers was really interesting. To see how Juius Ceasar was trying to help the plebians and then when the senators killed him. I was a little upset to know that Julius was killed because I think he was a good emporer for Rome and would have made a lot of good changes.

Overall, the Rome unit was pretty enjoyable. I found it interesting how the plebeians rebelled and dropped their weapons when the battle was about to begin. This was a very good solution, because it wouldn't result in war or argument, the patricians would just get the message, help the plebeians and move on without any big problem. I thought it was gruesome, how the senators killed Julias Caesar also.
