In my opinion, the most interesting thing we learned about Rome was when we were learning about the good and bad emperors. The emperor I dislike the most, was Nero because he was a young emperor which made him some what irresponsible. For example, when Nero caused a humongous fire, he blamed it all on the Christians and from that day on Christian's where persecuted for their beliefs, and they couldn't say that they never caused the fire because no one would believe them.
I agree with you Arianna. I see how said that he irresponsible because he was young. Plus yes the Christian would have no say because no one would believe them.
I agree Arianna! I always find it interesting to look at the leaders of different civilizations and how they are different or similar to ours. The crazy part is we only learned about a handful of rulers. There are so many more we didn't discuss in class. I always wonder what history books will say about our presidents in the future. Will we look back at Clinton, the Bush's, Obama, & Trump as heroes that made America a powerful nation or will they be seen as the start of the end of America. I guess only time will tell.
I agree with you also Arianna. I thought it was very cool to learn about the other emperors and what they did as rulers.
I agree with you Arianna. Learning about the good and bad emperors was interesting. Also I agree that the Christians couldn't deny that they started the fire on Rome because no one would believe them.
I think the most interesting thing we have learned bout in this unit was war strategies and shield formations. I liked the shield formations the most because their rely cool and I liked trying them out. I think some of the war stuff was parity gory but it was cool.
I agree with you, Taylor, the Roman army was one of the most exciting parts of the Rome unit. It took a huge army to take care of the size of Rome.
I agree with you Taylor I also think the army and the fighting formations were really cool. Seeing and holding the shields very close to what the Roman soldiers used was really fun.
I agree with you Taylor, it's formations were pretty cool. But, also it's history was pretty amazing , how it just beat everything in it's pass
I think the most intristing thing we learend about rome was the empores . also i wish we learend more about them and more empores.
I agree with u Audrey. I think I would be nice If we got to know no about the empores.
I really liked the parts about the Roman army. The fighting and battles were exciting to me. I watched the movie, Gladiator, doing research, and loved it.
I agree with you. The army and fighting was definitely my favorite. The fighting style and the amount of places they took over. [PS. I also watched the movie].
I believe that the army was the coolest thing. The fighting style was super cool and creative. This has by far been my favorite civilization. The movie gladeator was super cool. All the places that they have taken over was super cool!
I agree with everything you said Logan H. the gladiator scene was pretty cool to see how it was like in Rome at that time. Also the fighting formations were fun too.
I found the most interesting was the fighting formations that were used in Rome. I think is was fun to try one of the fighting formations called the Tortoise formation. I think that learning about all of the emperors were confusing as well.
In the Rome unit what I found most interesting/fun was , learning about the fighting formations .I liked it this most because we did an outdoor activity which was really fun.It was cool to see what the Roman soldiers did during battle. It also shows you why its the most well know fighting formation and why it the Roman army was dominating.
I agree.I thik the activity we did outside made us under stand how they did the formation instead of just seeing pictures. Also it was just a fun activity
The best part of Rome was when we were talking about war. One in particular was the Punic wars. Hannibal was really cool and how he brought 50 elephants over the alps. But then he lost because They killed his father.
Logan, I also think it was cool how many elephants Hannibal managed to get over the alps. I also think it was cool how the romans didn't know what elephants were. Is that all you think was cool about Hannibal.
I think the most fun thing we did in class was the tortus formation because we actually got to figure out how they did it. We also really did the formation outside. The most confusing thing was when Rome fell. The reason I fell it was confusing was because if I were to deal with it I would have told everyone on the west side to abandon it and come to the east.
I believe that Rome's army was the most interesting. I think Rome's army is most interesting because it has a long history. Like how it destroyed every army it had see. Also it has many formations, which one being the tortoise formation. This is what I think was most interesting about Rome.
I agree with you Logan. I also think that Romes army was interesting to learn about because, the army was what Rome depended on. If the Roman army lost a battle, they would lose resources, land, citizens could be enslaved or punished too. I also think that learning how to do the tortoise formation was fun because I kind of felt like a Roman in battle!
I agree with you Logan. The army of Rome was pretty cool. I think their formations are very clever. And it must be pretty hard to protect such a vast amount of land, but they manage for quite a while. They must be a pretty strong army overall, in tactics, and strength.
I think the most interesting thing I learned about Rome is the Emperors.i liked learning about the bad ad good Empiers.I also like learning about their war formations like the tortoise wich is when the put there shield I a certain formation to look like a tortoise shell
i agree with kyla because the empores were the most intristing thing that we learend. that is why i agree with kyla.
I liked learning about the Roman emperors. I liked learning how each emperor ruled Rome. Each emperor ruled differently, some emperors were good and some emperors were bad.
I agree with you Autumn because the Romen empire was pretty cool. Because their was up and downs like they used the tax money to do big alabrat parties. Also they helped the Plebains get jobs. That's why I agree with you Autumn
I think the most interesting thing was when we learned about Julius Ceaser. Why? Because he got brought up in many different Rome rulers good and bad. Also his death was simarlar to today. So that is why I think Julius Ceasor is the most interesting thing I have learned in Rome
think the most cool thing about Rome was who big it got. I think it was really cool learning about the wars they fought. Also too me it is also cool that the ruled some of Africa Asia and Erope .
I agree with you Amahria the size of how big Rome got was amazing. Learning about the good and bad things of Rome's size.
In my opinion learning about all the emporers was really interesting. To see how Juius Ceasar was trying to help the plebians and then when the senators killed him. I was a little upset to know that Julius was killed because I think he was a good emporer for Rome and would have made a lot of good changes.
I think the most interesting thing we learned was about the fighting formations in Rome. It was interesting to learn what the Romans did in battle with other civilizations. It was really fun to reenact the Tortoise formation outside and learn how the Romans did that.
Overall, the Rome unit was pretty enjoyable. I found it interesting how the plebeians rebelled and dropped their weapons when the battle was about to begin. This was a very good solution, because it wouldn't result in war or argument, the patricians would just get the message, help the plebeians and move on without any big problem. I thought it was gruesome, how the senators killed Julias Caesar also.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
