Honestly I would rather live and lie about it depending on if I knew for a fact that my belief was real. If I am just going off of something I have never seen or heard for myself, I wouldn't want to leave my family and everything I have earned on a myth.

I sort of disagree with you because you don't really know until you actually know. I know that sounds a slight bit off but basically all i'm trying to say is that you have to have a tiny belief in you somewhere. You have to believe that there is someone or something or maybe even some place you will go for the afterlife. I'm not saying that I'm against atheism but it's just that without the hope that there is someone up there you wouldn't want to not believe in anything. Now to get back on track, say, what you believed in the first time was the actual afterlife. What if your first belief was true. I would feel terrible. I would just feel horrible knowing that I spent my whole life letting people control my life and then in the end have it all be a huge lie? That just doesn't sit right with me.

I also disagree because it is not a belief if you aren't sure it is real. To believe is to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so witch guessing is not. I agree with you because you can always practice your believe in private and they would never know.If you didn't want to lie you would die and find out that it is a myth if it is a myth

I totally agree with you, Will. I would do anything to not be tortured or killed for persecution. Although I can see other people's points like standing up for them self, but then you would be tortured.

I would rather die for my beliefs. I want the chance of living the way I want to live and not by the rules of another. If I can't live the way I want to live, then what's the point of actually living? I'll tell you the truth ; you're not really living if you're following in the steps of your rulers; you have to find your own path and live it among yourself and your own rules.

I disagree with you because you don't have to have a beliefs to have a personality. I am not saying it is wrong to believe in something however I think it is wrong to give up on your family, everyone counting on you and die a horrible death for something you "believe". Yes I believe in God however I personally have not met the man myself. I don't think I would be ready to die for something like that.

I agree with noemi because you can believ what you want to believ but you will die from it because they only want you to believ in a serten type of god.

l disagree because you can't spread your teachings with the world. Also you can't make your kids your religion. Your religion could go away forever.

I would probably lie but then continue believing and and going to church. I would die if the persecutor was going to stalk me an kill me if I lied. I think you asked a extremely deep question but didn't give enough background on the situation to give a honest answer.

I would rather lie because if I am about to be tortured or mauled by a lion or caught on fire, I would be like, "No, No, Don't hurt me. I believe in your gods". Although I could see in being persecuted for it if you are Christian and are a priest or bishop or something, I wouldn't because I am not one. Although lying is bad, it's not as bad as being tortured.

Sean I disagree with you because if you believe in something you need to go out and get it. If you lie just make you look like a phony. So that is why you should not lie!

I would die for my beliefs. I would die for my beliefs, because I believe what I want to and that's just me. And nothing is wrong with that.

I am not sure I love my beliefs but if they torture me for days I will give in. Although I probably would not lie if it is a death right away but days of torture I would give in. So it is a kind of like a kind of sort of situation yes but no.

I disagree, living than dying because when you die beliving, it doesn't make a difference. Living longer than dying is the would do you the same than believing. Good job still.

I rather live, I don't want to have to deal with the punishments, mostly getting torcherd would be the worse. Then I can live happy life and keep the secret even if it's is lying. Dying for your beliefs would so not be worth it, im not insane.

I would rather live and lie about my beliefs. Because I can still believe my on beliefs by my self and believe it in a secret to others. Also I want to live because I want to reach the end of my instead of dying early.

I would rather lie and live because I could still practice my religion in secret, but no one would have to know that I'm lying about my religion.

Paris, I disagree, sure if you lied you would live, but If you spread your religion, then you'll get in HUGE trouble. If you spread your religion, you have to tell as many people as possible to actually do anything. It only takes one to tell the Government about you. Also, if you died for your religion, it would probably spread it farther. Because you dying shows you have complete faith in the religion making people think "why would he/she die for something they weren't completely sure it wasn't true?"

I would rather lie about it, because at the moment I really don't believe in much religious things. But if I did believe in a religion I thing i still would lie about it so I could still live to practice it.While it would be a pain to have that on my conscienceness.

I would rather die for my beliefs. This is because I wouldn't want to believe I any other God or gods that I don't believe in. Also if you I did choose to lie what if I were to get caught ,then what would happen to me.

I would rather die fighting for what I believe in, than lie and live in fear of what could happen if I accidentally let it slip out. Plus, if I die for what I believe in, then I would have some form of legacy and might be remembered. Finally I would rather die for my beliefs than not die but lie about it because, lying is against my religion. This quote is exactly how I feel about this matter
