I found that the most interesting part of Africa was the trade. They traded gold for salt which is crazy because no one would do that now. In Africa though you needed salt to live because it preserves food and does many other things. How they traded silently is also crazy. I would not be able to trade silently. I found that the least interesting part of Africa was nothing. I did not know that Africa had ancient civilizations just like the rest of the world. They had to take a trip to the north to let people know that there were people in Africa. In Africa there was nothing that was not interesting and I learned many things in that unit.

I also would not be able to trade silently. I would go crazy if I couldn't communicate the way I usually do. Think of hard it would be to understand someone you have never met before.

The part I found most interesting was how valuable salt was. Now salt is considered to be nothing to some people, many people now take it for granted. Back then salt was so important, you couldn't live without it.

I have to agree, the salt was very cool. No one else really did it like that after the Africans but It was still interesting.

The most interesting part of Africa was gold and salt. The Africans had a lot of gold so they traded it for the salt. Salt was a serious necessity because they could die without it. Today people don't think much of salt.

I agree with you Brisa because the gold and salt trade was very interesting. It is interesting because no one would ever think that salt was that valuable. In Africa you needed salt to live. Today, people do not think that salt is valuable at all.

I totally agree with you Brisa. If they didn't have salt they could have died. Salt was a need because it helped preserve food, gave flavor, and it gave good nutrients to their diet.

I found that the most interesting part was the way Africans traded. It wasn't even similar to the way others did it but it made amazing strides in the way it was done. Honestly, i didnt have a least favorite part, it was all interesting to me

The most interesting about the Africa unit was learning about trade. They used to trade salt for gold and people today would think they were crazy to trade salt for gold. They traded the salt for gold because salt was very valuable to them. It helped them perserve their food and it gave flavor to food. They also did silent trades. If I were them it would have been so hard for me not to talk because the people they would trade with didn't speak the same language.

I agree with you because learning about Africa's trade was so interesting. Also how salt was so valuable and how they traded with out talking. I think I would be really hard to trade with out talking. I thought you needed to be talking to trade because you need to know if they want more gold or salt or if they would rather change something else.

I agree. Its weird that they traded salt for gold back then. Now that is such an unfair trade but back then they needed it for survival. I thought that was a good part of the unit.

I agree with you that the trade was very interesting. Silent trading must of been hard because they would want to say things but no one would understand.

I think the most interesting part of Africa was their trading. Because I never know that they traded gold for salt. Also I never know that salt was so valuable. That salt was used for giving flavor to your food. Also it was used for lasting your food longer and gave them nutrences. Also it was so interesting how they traded.

I thought the most interesting thing is that how much Mansa Musa did for Africa. He expanded Africa he made it wealthier and much more for Africa. I thought it was cool that ONE man can make such a huge change.

My favorite part would have been the part about the silent trade because it was fun to learn about and we got to play a game my least favorite part was about the wall because I thought there would be more and it was looked way to small to fit all those people

I think the most interesting part was the silent trade. It was very interesting how they traded without talking. Trading salt for gold while not being able to talk to each other was very interesting.

My favorite part of the Africa unit is when we learned about how the people trade and how they do it.Then the other part was when we learned about the towers that were not for defense but it shows wealth and power. My least favorite part was when they built there churches in the ground and how that when Africa barley had any light only some parts did have light sources.
